It must be great to think you are the best in the county. Calling yourself "dogz" and other ghetto crap like that. You think that kinda stuff makes you sound cool or something, and this stuff with the Stardust too, riiight you are the man. Wish i was at 13, not. The majority of the time you can only get the engine out with 3, which is fine for an engine. Res. Squad requires 4, which you guys won't be able to pull off most of the time. Be happy with what you have, become a good engine company before you see the need to get a squad.

Guest repliedAs far as squad 13 goes.............from what i have heard is that it will go in service WHEN 7 and 13 combine as part of 7's punishment from their troubles a year and a half ago, 13 will get rid of their ambo (77 will provide bls transport service) and squad 13 wil be placed in service. Sounds like a sweet deal for 13. I do have a few questions though......1) In this day where the rescue squads are the RIC.......who wants to buy and place a piece of apparatus in service that is gonna have them standing outside on every fire??? why do that??? 2) How many rescue squads are needed in one area? oversaturation? squad 14 is next first due to the north......squad 1 is 2 first dues to teh west but when they ( 7 and 13 ) combine it will be the next first due over to the west.........squad 2 is two first dues to the south w squad 22 bein one more to the south past that. So including the mighty squad 13.......thats 5 squads in a 5 mile area.........why??? not to mention 28 carrying tools on their rig and 9 carrying it on theirs. Oh yea.......6 squads...sorry........forgot about 14R. Just something to think about.

Guest repliedSquad 13, sounds almost like a joke. Thats what 13 needs, is another piece of apparatus to add to their understaffed stats. I wonder what Co. 33 thinks?. Well at least the B & W should be safe with 13 on the job.

Guest replied13thFiredog::: If you guys could only get the Engine or the Amb. out manned, maybe you could even get the Squad out. But I don't see that happening!!! The only way you guys got the Squad is the Chief is on the Fire Comm. And we all know what you have to do to get something from.(big lips)you know!!No one there would know what to do when they got there anyway.

Guest repliedkvfdlife- The point I was trying to make was that if 'garbage pickup was as exciting as firefighting we would never have to pay to have it picked up once a week'
The police patrolling Kentlands area aren't doing police work for free.
And this attitude of "we're better firefighters than they are" has to go. You sound like a bunch of bullies in a sandbox.

Guest repliedHey Wheelman1619! What station in the county do you work ?
Im both CAREER and VOLUNTEER! And im very proud to say that i am.. If you must know where I work email me and i would love to tell you a few stories about the big city! As far as the union.. They can stick that cant volunteer crap up there @#[email protected]
Now as far as Kentland and Seat Pleasant... Those to stations prob have the most agrresive volunteers you would ever want! When they go on the scene with fire showing and only hold 33.. Hmmmm tells me they love what they do and can hold there own!
If you must understand the way they RUN! RIDE THERE or shut up.
If you cant run with the big dogs get off the fireground!
Just remember boys and girls. We are all here to do the same job... Paid volunteer or scab like me!!
Peace and be safe ...... Just Remember its a crazzzzy world out there..

Guest repliedFor RonRabbitt, My point was not to boast about someone getting there teeth knocked out, but to stress the importance of following the General Orders that are in place (and for a reason). There was more than one person on that call that was not adhering to "the rules", everybody knows that. My point was this, this time someone lost some teeth, next time it (not following Gen. Orders) could mean someone losing their life. Oh and by the way, I was on that call, and do know the details...

Guest repliedFor wheelman1619 -- You make a good point about younger members letting their enthusiasm sometimes out running the common sense test. Old salts like you should know better, however -- the following comment:
I seem to remember a certain volunteer captain getting his teeth knocked out on a house fire, trying to take the line. Maybe he should have been doing what he was supposed to be doing.......
demonstrates how ignorant you are about the real situation on that call. Is this one you really want to press, in light of what you KNOW to be the truth (and not just the story)? Ask your buds at the local the real story, about the violations of SOPs by the paid guys, LT alone in the basement, the lack of PPE, unauthorized drivers, etc. etc etc. You go boy! Defend your buddy to the bitter end. Real credit to the business you are, and setting a fine example for the newly hired guys.

Guest repliedIt's funny that you single out the volunteers at seat pleasant for not following the general orders but since sept there have been paid men at 8 and 8 is still getting written up on calls. As far as 8 and 33, I did not know being aggressive and having company pride was breaking general orders.
