I am wondering if there is a website that provides any statistical data pertaining to the number of fires per capita (preferably in square miles)? I am particularly interested in statistical data for Irvington, NJ. If you could direct me to a website where I could obtain this information I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

IFD202,
I don't have an answer for you but I bet my neighbor Hartford is near the top of the list. Hartford gets a boat load of fire for a small city. Hartford is only about 20 square miles (5 miles X 4 miles) I could be a little off but that's about right. They average 1-2 decent fires a day.IAFF member, Love this job! Remember the oath! -
Per Capita
I don't know of any Web site that provides such data, but I will make a suggestion that might help you in your search. Data that is listed as "per capita" usually means divided up among a population -- as in number of fire stations per 1,000 people. If you are looking for information divided up by geographical area -- i.e. per square mile -- you won't find it listed as "per capita."Comment
