Nope. The standards here exceed the national levels. You need to start at square 1.

Local technical college. Or the local FD to find out who offers the training in that area. Or a Google search to find out who offers the training in your area.

            CA St Fire Marshal

Here's the link to the California State Fire Marshal's office in Sacramento:

IFSAC certs are not valid in California except for your Hazmat certs. CSTI which certifies hazmat in CA has reciprocity with Proboard, Proboard recognizes IFSAC.

It is not because the standards are lower, it is because CA refuses to certify that they meet NFPA standards for training (which they do). IFSAC will not offer reciprocity with a state that doesn't certify they meet NFPA.

FF1 and FF2 are pretty much the same between CA and IFSAC, just rearranged. California's Fire Officer series is far beyond what IFSAC requires.

You can apply for Federal jobs with your IFSAC certs, and in fact that is what you have to have for Department of Defense fire departments. If you get hired with a DoD department you can usually have your IFSAC certs go towards getting your CA FF1&2 if the training officer and chief will sign off on the CA FF1 & 2 paperwork, most will.
