Religious Broadcaster Pat Robertson Predicts Horrific Terrorist Attack on U.S. in 2007

Breaking News, Latest News and Current News from FOXNews.com. Breaking news and video. Latest Current News: U.S., World, Entertainment, Health, Business, Technology, Politics, Sports.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia — Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Tuesday a horrific terrorist act on the United States that will result in "mass killing" late in 2007.

"I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network. "The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that."

Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

"I put these things out with humility," he said.

Robertson said God also told him that the U.S. only feigns friendship with Israel and that U.S. policies are pushing Israel toward "national suicide."

Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli-controlled land to the Palestinians.

Predicting events for the coming year is an annual tradition for Robertson.

He predicted in January 2004 that President George W. Bush would easily win re-election. Bush won 51 percent of the vote that fall, beating Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.

In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term. He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts.

Lawmakers confirmed Bush's 2005 nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. But the president's Social Security initiative was stalled by widespread opposition.

"I have a relatively good track record," he said. "Sometimes I miss."

In May, Robertson said God told him that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America's coastline in 2006. Even though the U.S. was not hit with a tsunami, Robertson on Tuesday cited last spring's heavy rains and flooding in New England as partly fulfilling the prediction.
Thoughts? Comments? I thought this was interesting for some stupid reason.

edited to add: I meant for this to be in the off duty forums. Sorry.

Last year he also predicted that Dover, PA would be hit with a natural disaster: FoxNews
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club."
At least this time he cited his sources...
Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

Every country in the world has problems with eachother, it would take a fool to not assume something is going to happen eventually.

          Good Guess though.

            Yippers.

Captain Gonzo is dead on. Don't trust a one of the slimy televangelists like Benny Hinn and Pat Robertson. Their messages are quite off base.

There is one channel that I do trust and watch on occasion, but if I need a laugh I'll turn on Pat Robertson. Can only stand him for a few minuts before I get disgusted.

The US, it's citizens, or it's assetts, get attacked somewhere in the world with multiple fatalites almost every year. Whether an embassy, a warship, or a tourist resort, this one doesn't need much to "justify" the claim.

Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli-controlled land to the Palestinians.
Yeah, God. Not his age and 200 extra pounds.

In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term.
Well sort of. I don't know is the repulican slaughter in the mid term elections is "victory-after-victory"?

He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts.
              Thank you Captain Obvious!

"I have a relatively good track record," he said. "Sometimes I miss."
Yeah, that god guy is not a very reliable source.

                God: Pat?
                Pat: Yes God?
                God: Build an Ark.
                Pat: Riiiiiiight. What for?
                God: I can't tell you.
Pat: Can you give me a hint?
God: How long can you tread water??

Yet, he keeps getting air time. He is one of the guys Diderot meant when he said "Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest."

Pat needs to spend more time and money lobbying Virginia's DOT to make a freeway exit just for his church and "Pat City" he is trying to build. VDOT told him basically to go to hell the last time.
