Who cares! What I want to know..is when is the hose going to load itself!!!
Lol! j/k. It's great to see new inventions and innovations in the FD.
-What about automatic preconnect deployers?
-Hydraulic lift assist exosuits? (which actually exist but are so big and blocky they currently have no 'practical' use)
-Neurological implants? Learn HAZMAT Tech and Rope Rescue Tech in seconds!Hehe.

It's funny...We were talking to our Pierce dealer about this hosebed (It's patented I bleive to Pierce as the Packmule) and they said don't even bother. The negatives outweight the benefits. We really didn't get into it because when they told us it limits your tank size to either 500 or 750 it was a moot point. The comments made by me are my opinions only, not of the Fire and EMS services I am affiliated with.
I have lost my mind..has anyone seen it? it's not worth much..but it's mine

The only drawback is that you can't lay line as fast as you could with a traditional hose bed. OTOH, you can probably lay line as fast as you should with a traditional hose bed...
Hand lines still work best hand packed but they're a lot less aggravation to load than the supply line anyway, IMHO."Nemo Plus Voluptatis Quam Nos Habant"

We have a standard hose bed, but we drive forward to load the hose when possible. The driver can see what is in front much better than what is behind. It also eliminates the desire to pull the hose up off the road bed. As the hose comes out from under the truck it is layed up on the hose bed.

In looking again I noticed the LDH is loaded on opposite sides of the hose bed with a length of hose crossing over from one side to the other. It looks like 2-1/2" or 3" in between the two LDH bays.
Is there some reason I haven't heard of to split the lay like this? I'd be inclined to put LDH on one side, smaller hose on the other. What gives?ullrichk

Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.
"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.
Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.
