Thanks for posting this. I have to say, it makes no difference whatsoever to me if the call was downgraded seconds before the crash. They were still running lights and sirens. That means traffic needs to yield, not race the engine to the intersection. -
First, my condolences to the family. She had so much life ahead...... Erika Schwager, 16, whose vehicle was broadsided
by a fire truck in West Des Moines died ....
And then...a question. Is this really the legal age to operate a motor vehicle in Iowa...without supervision in the vehicle? Could this be a contributing factor in this fatal accident? At sixteen....I was riding my bike.Proudly serving as the IACOJ Minister of Information & Propoganda!

Dont know the specifics on this accident BUT, just because they had lights and sirens does not mean it wasnt their fault. If they ran a light or stop sign...ETC they are still liableBuck
