Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.
"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.
Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.

That's supposed to be good stuff. I picked up some at a local Ace Hardware to fill in a small chip on the brim of my New Yorker, but have not had the chance to use it yet. The same company also makes a PC-8 Epoxy.

Sims, let me try to make this easy for you.Why you 'spose the rim is exposed? Because the leather is failing(IE helmet has reached the end of it's life cycle)and will no longer afford your pumpkin the desired protection level. Can it be fixed? MAYBE,but to have it done CORRECTLY you will be close to the price of a new one and chances are the one you're looking at is a non compliant one if that matters at all to you.Like FFfred says, bond it up and put it on the mantle(the one in your house, not your head)it'll look good up there.Save up your pesos and buy a new one, properly cared for they last a long time. I have in the past also used JB Weld to fill in minor cracks. I like it better than bondo, but to each his own.RK
