  • ISO - NFPA Apparatus Requirements

    Hello,

I'm looking to find the ISO or NFPA requirements of fire apparatus for fire departments. Basically, I need info on what equipment is to be carried, amount of hose, how tools are to be kept, scba, radios, nozzles, etc. Also, info. on rescues, tankers, specialty apparatus, and equipment needed to classify the apparatus as NFPA or ISO to lower FD ratings.

Hope someone can help me and my department.

    THANKS!!!

You can find a lot of information on ISO here:

    http://www.isomitigation.com/

As for NFPA, you'll probably have to buy whatever you need, unless you can find a member who's willing to download information from their account and give it to you for free:

As far as NFPA - you are looking for NFPA 1901: Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus

Any NFPA standard can now be READ free of charge from the NFPA web site. You CANNOT download or print them but you CAN read them.

Go here and croll down to the "Preview Document" link
