As to the inside/ outside coat debate.... After 2 days of rapid intervention training inside worked the best for me. Between the SCBA straps, Vulcan light strap and dragging the RIT bag around I was hanging on everything. In the "Cuss-O-Matic" (the tunnel with the wires hanging in it) I managed to cut into the radio strap while going through the tunnel. The next day I kept it inside and did not get tangled once. The down side is if another district car takes the run from the dispatched car, means we have to switch channels.....
While not trying to rattle an old thread to bad...........anyone else dealt with stonemtn >? I found this here a couple of weeks ago and have gotten the info and prices and am debating about making the move. They recommend the Juno ...........and they no longer make them in red darn it. So onto my second question for the radio junkies out there, we are on VHF hi simplex system, I have a MT2000 with the public safety mic set up. Our local "shop" says these items "take away" from the effectiveness of the portable. Whats your take ?
