We are searching for a 5" stortz to 4.5" nst female adapter for our 5 inch hose. Apparently they are not making them any more. We currently have 2 and would like to more. Does any one know of any that sells them or wants to sell theirs.

He wasn't talking about the Storz adapters, per si. He was asking about an adapter that was made and lived about 10 to 15 years ago, with the 4-1/2" thread that had what was called “ZIP-NUTS".
This was a split like thread that floated, spring held, and all you did was to push this thing on the steamer outlet of the hydrant and make a small right turn to tighten it. In other words there was a need to thread the adapter and turn the swivel several times to tighten it up.
The idea was good for its time, but there were problems with it. It sometimes would not tighten as maybe some dirt or trash would get into the “floating” threads and cause it to be loose. There were cases that this adapter blew off the hydrant. Most departments removed them from the pumpers and probably use them as paper weights now.
Like all things that come out on the market, they need to be firefighter tested and firefighter proof before they are used in every day operations.Stay Safe and Well Out There....
