I got a senior paper due in December and i'm doing it on the general aspect of firefighting. The help i need though is book suggestions. I already have bought Reports From Grounds Zero by Dennis Smith and I'm planning on buying Fire Fighters: Stories of Survival from the Front Lines of Firefighting by Clint Willis. Besides those 2 i'm basically stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Report from Engine Co. 82 should be enough all by itself.RK

Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.
"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.
Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.

If you only get one book this one would be the one.
If you want a wildland perspective, I can recommend
Fire on the rim, by Steven Pyne.
The author worked 15 seasons as a firefighter at the Grand Canyon, this book gives you an idea of what a wildland firefighter does in many parts of the country.

Report from Engine Co 82 and Last Mand Down are both excellent books. I would highly recommend both of them.28 P.R.I.D.E.www.westmead1.com
