  • Any IBMers?

I just started working for IBM as a tester and am curious if there are any IBM E-crew personel out here in firehouse land.

We have 4-5 IBMers on our department. The Boulder facility about 5 miles from our district.

I don't work for them, but I am using a Stinkpad right now.
Just know, I chose my own fate. I drove by the fork in the road and went straight.

I couple of guys that were on the Emergency Control crew a few years back but have since moved on. My Dad worked for IBM for over 30 years. I wonder what Tom Watson would say today about the company he founded.

I talked to my manager earlier today and I've got to meet now with a supervisor for the Emergency crew at our plant. Looks like I'll be able to join them as a volunteer. Kinda weird being a volly emt possibly ff at my job too.

I know quite a few of those people here in NC. Pretty decently run little program that notifies them of events "on site" via alpha pagers.

My Dad also put in over 37 yrs with Big Blue. I do a ton of business with IBM at my job, but the IBM of today is nothing like the IBM of old.

NeedleJockey, We'll have to meet up and get a bite to eat sometime...

Perhaps a "Vermont Firehouse.Com Meetup" with some of the other Vermonters on here.

If you are running with the Junction, talk to M. Collins or L.Ransom with Essex Town. They will be able to give you more insight on IBM Burlington's EC.

I will be up in burlington next week. I am taking strategy and tactic for intial company operations at the Chittenden Fire school and i believe that class is taking place at one of the essex fire departments. I take classes all year up there so if you take any classes i'm sure i will run into you. IBM has its own EMS people so if you are into that you can join up with them.
