    It is with regret and sorrow that I announce the death of 55 year old Assistant Chief Lee Walters of the Sheldon Township Fire Department located in Beaufort County. He was struck down this morning after going into Cardiac Arrest at a structure fire.

    Funeral Arrangements are pending and will be posted when they become available.

    May he rest in Eternal Peace...

        It's so sad to see another brother pass. My best wishes to his family and his department.

        I can't believe they actually pay me to do this!!!

        One friend noted yesterday that a fire officer only carries a flashlight, sometimes prompting grumbling from firefighters who have to lug tools and hoses.
        "The old saying is you never know how heavy that flashlight can become," the friend said.
