I am looking to test a group of hydrants that don't throw a very organized stream into the open air. They are wharf head and they have an expander right after the outlet. I have a hand held pitot but it gets inconsistent readings because the water flow flares out in all directions and there are some places right in the middle where you can hold it and get no reading at all. I am of course interested in how much water is going past my gauge and nothing else. Can anybody recommend anything affordable and accurate such as one of those screw on pitot setups that you don't have to hold.
