It is all in what you are looking for to pay and live.

Are you on the job? If so ask the brothers in your house.

Checkout Long Island City, convenient to the city w/out the downtown Brooklyn price tag. Well, at least in 1987 it was....

Also, don't discount Bushwich, the artists have discovered the charms of balloon frame construction. Who knows, it could be the next DUMBO.

And pal, you can't afford Bed-Sty

          Irishfire13,
The closer you get to Manhattan the more it's gonna cost you. I Grew up in Flushing and think you got some bad info . Try places like Bayside, Whitestone, Broadway Flushing, some parts of Astoria, Maspeth. There are alot more, but try these areas first. Remember this, It's a big city with big city crime and no place is completly safe. Good luck and good hunting.

The uniform you're given is free, but it comes with a history. Do the right thing when you're in it.

I'd choose rural LaPorte County, IN. But that's just the whacker-farmboy-redneck-Hoosier speaking.

Damn - I thought that nice man named Ray - the Mayor of Amsterdam Avenue was going to do something to make the Upper Westside more affordable! I might have to continue staying on the Upper Eastside when I visit next. Gotta catch up with the Mayor of Greenpoint next time I visit too!

I think he is also a councilman/alderman in Williamsburg, too! Speaking of which I may need to make a trip out to the city soon. Not sure how soon, but soon.
