My first meal when I got on the job was a salmon filet baked with a crust of crabmeat, I forget the sides. Boy did they trick me, never again did we eat like that in that house!

Easy- Firehouse 1-2-3: Roast, Mashed Potatos, Green Beans.

    Favorites-
Crabcakes, Fried Oysters, Venison Meatloaf, Venison Tenderloins, Roast Chicken, Turkey, Fried Cabbage, Cornbread, Mashed Potatos and Cabbage, Sausage, Omelettes, Baked Rockfish, Glazed Carrots, Steamed Broccoli, Stuffed Pork Chops, Lasagne, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, BBQ Chicken, Burgers, etc...

Troll911- Frijoles Barracho? I know what a frijole is but what the h*ll is a barracho? My girlfriend used to call me that, while I'm pretty sure she liked me, she wouldn't tell me what it meant. Then she moved to alaska.

Here's a quick and easy snack for football game days, baseball...etc..

Small crock pot, medium sized block of velveeta cheese, can of hormel chili (with or without beans) and a large bag of tortilla chips, corn chips, or whatever you prefer..

Start about an hour before the game/event..
Cut the velveeta up in cubes, put in the crock pot on low...add the chili...let simmer for an hour, stirring frequently....a great chip dip!! NOTE: the poor slob that has to wash the crock pot will need elbow grease, lots of soap, and possibly a sandblaster.

Lumpy649, ya'll got mesquite in VA? If ya need some more, just holler. I like taking about a 12# brisket and smoking it all day (at about 250') with mesquite or pecan. Serve it up with some frijoles barracho, tater salad and a big ol' pan of cornbread followed with a half burnt peach cobbler. Gotta go, I'm hungry now.

I've got a "recipe" for mesquite chicken that we sometimes throw on the grill... after marinating for 6-7 hours. Great for kabobs with beef, chicken, cherry tomatoes, green bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms seved with rice. If anyone wants it, I'll list it... lemme know. My old crew at Engine 18 loved it.

You make pizza on Fridays and there are still leftovers on Sunday when you get back? What d'you do, lock the refrigerator?

I've gotten pretty fond of Italian sausage with peppers and onions and lots of Gulden's mustard, myself...

The hand made Pizza that we make every Friday that we work. We make about 6 pies, then hit the leftovers on the Sunday shift.

Chief Taylor, I couldn't agree with you more!

But I also have to say that my favorite has to be the Barbaque Sandwhich or Steak.
