ours was on new years day, compressor room on the back of our local grocery store caught, we were on scene in about 3 minutes, not bad for a vollie dept on a holiday, another couple of minutes and it would have got inside the main building, was real close
luckily the owner was there unloading a grocery truck, otherwise it would have been fully involved before it was noticed..

For a small volly dept. we keep busy. So far this month we have had 9 working structure fires.

                  TOO BUSY

                  25 other calls

Our department had the dubious distinction of having the first structure fire of the new year in our county at 0016. It was right across the street from my house, so response was not a problem. The family lost all they had, but are safe and still alive. We also went mutual aid to our neighbor Department on Monday night, Jan. 15 to a big fire. Gutted a 2-story house and all was lost inside, but once agian, the family is alive and safe.

A week ago today. Successfully saved the home without much damage. 30 hours later at 1:30am, toned out to same location. Fully involved and total loss. This time fire appeared to start in different location. Dogs have been called in. do not know the result as yet.
