  • St Paul MN Fire Info

Just curious if anyone knows a website for St Paul MN fire? I've done some searching and can't find anything. I only found the St. Paul city page and a message from the fire chief. That's about it.

I'm just curious as to their requirements, physical agility testing, etc. If you know any of that feel free to message me. I'd appreciate the info. I would call for an application, but I'm not planning to tryout for a few years.

Other than that, several internet searches yeilded NOTHING more. Hmmmm...

    Good luck!

This is the only web site with information that I know of and I was involved with this last test.

The page you have requested can't be found. Try searching our site using the search icon in the site header.

And as for your comment about not taking the test for a couple of years here is some free advice. . . Just take it when it is offered. What do you have to loose? There is not firefighter certification test and there are no firefighter requirements, there are about 1000 people who apply, and the last time they conducted a test was in 2000.

      Anyway, I hope this helps.

          Saint Paul Fire- Local 21
This doesn't have much hiring information, but it is a good Saint Paul Fire resource.

There is a definate lack of a web presence by the City of St. Paul Department of Fire and Safety Services, but that is soon to change. The city has just gone through the process of hiring a new Fire Chief, Chief Doug Holton, formerly a BC in Milwaukee. Consequently some things where put in a holding pattern until he came up to speed. A web sight commitee and has been re-formed and a plan has been implemented. It is in the process of designing the new sight and should be up shortly.
As for hiring, the city is right in the middle of testing and evaluating 17c Fire Fighters (current qualled career Fire Fighters able to lateral transfer). Which are tentitavely scheduled to attend a shortened version of acedemy in November. Of course this is all subject to change. This is a stop gap program, used to fill vacancies much quicker than a full hiring process, not to mention a money saver for the city.
Once this is complete, (summer '04?) open testing will again be scheduled. When it does, I'll post it here.
