Remembering 9/11

An aquaintance of mine from another forum wrote this poem, he's a wonderful author and has written many beautiful things. I saw this poem earlier this morning and posted a request to him asking if I could copy and paste it over here. He said that would be fine. I hope you all enjoy it.

The Towers Fell To The Ground

The New York skyline was forever changed
Life for many, would never be the same
Fathers, Mothers, Daughters, Sons
Killed and buried in the rubble of massive tons
Done by men who were motivated by hate
We will never forget the date
Whenever September 11th comes around
The day the towers fell to the ground.

Tuesday morning with a sky so blue
The warming sun burning off morning dew
Brave men and women trying to rescue
Saving some, but way to few
Climbing stairs, sealing their fate
We will never forget the date
Whenever September 11th comes around
The day the towers fell to the ground.

The air was filled with dust and smoke
Throats choked, it hurt when they spoke
We watched and listened, but could hardly believe
What we heard on our radios or seen on our TV's
The horrible destruction caused by hate
Will we ever forget the date
When September 11th comes around
The day the towers fell to the ground.
