Nomex IIIA is an inherently fire resistant synthetic armamid fiber, providing you keep it clean it will maintain it's fire resistance level. Indura is based on a natural cotton material which gains its fire resistance from a FR treatment post fabric weave. This fire resistance will remain effective providing the Indura is washed in a cold water wash using synthetic laundry detergent (not soap based) and not bleached. Bleaching and other chemicals can remove the FR treatment. On the subject of laundry, Nomex will clean up easier (using a wool wash in cold water) than Indura because fire gunk only gets ON the synthetic fibers, and not INTO the natural Indura cotton fibers. - Peter.

Thanks, anything about the fire proofing, is one better than the other in that instance.

Nomex IIIA in either 6 or 7.5oz/yd is lighter, more durable in terms of abrasion resistance, and more expensive. Indura FR Cotton is heavier, about 9 to 11oz/yd and therefore has a slightly better thermal radiant heat resistance, and "breaths" a little better as it is natural rather than synthetic fiber based. Indura is also cheaper. As it is wildland pants you are going for, I'd go for Nomex mainly due to the durability factor if you can meet the extra cost, pants take a real beating compared to jackets and shirts. Having said that, Indura is OK, just not as durable.
