Try some tracks of "The Rising" by Bruce Springsteen.
I don't know what your presentation is about, but "Into the Fire" and "The Rising" are great songs.
"You're Missing" is about the loss of a dear one, but is pure genius, it brings tears to your eyes, if you know what he's singing about.
I guess it all depends on the subject of your presentation.

At the risk of sounding funny: Crawling from the Wreckage- Dave Edmunds

At the risk of sounding Sappy: You've got a Friend- James Taylor

Jockey Full of Bourbon- John Hammond (the Moxy Fruvous cover is better)

Burning Down the House- Talking Heads

      For instrumentals only:

Dave Edmunds does a great version of "Sabre Dance" on his Album "Plugged In" which also has an Insrumental called "The Claw"

      Jessica-The Allman Brothers

Bagpipes can be a little slow and draining.....Plus, it reminds me of funerals. That's just my opinion, though. No need to start a war over it.

The soundtrack to "Backdraft" has some good songs, instrumental and "light" pop types.

I agree with "The Rising" -- the album itself has some good stuff on it.

How about these for your listen pleasure:

"Ring of Fire"-Johnny Cash good beat, catchy and everyone knows it.

"Burning Down the House"-Talking Heads I like it just because.

"Thunderstruck"-AC/DC Great beat, moves fast if you want to portray emotional build up or action.
"It's a long way to the top"-AC/DC Another good one.

Only use bagpipes alone if you want to convey some sadness or emotion associated with a firefighter death. If you do, have lots of Kleenex handy. Bagpipes, no matter what they are playing, make me cry like a little school girl. I know I'm not the only one either.

                          Good luck.

Keep your head down and your powder dry.

Hornsby's "Show Goes On" is definitely a good choice, and it's from Backdraft, so most will know it. Good lyrics too....
