  • Government Acquisition plan for apparatus financing

Has anyone here used or heard of anyone using the agency called Government Acquisition to fund apparatus? The deal is they sell advertising and it is placed on the rig. No guns, alcohol, cigarettes or anything else that may be deemed offensive.

At first glance it seems bizarre and goofy, but at second glance it is free money for a little advertising. What do you think?

It seems interesting, but perhaps alittle over the edge for the traditionalists. I am just looking for a way to fund a truck.

So from what I am reading my department, which is a part of county government can apply. We are funded by property taxes. I think I am going to apply, it is worth a shot.

          We'll see......

I just fired off an email to them, explaining that we are a Volunteer Fire Dept that is NOT a government agency, and are we eligible to participate?. I'll post whatever I get back from them. Stay Safe....

              Hey Guys,
We talked to these folks and they said that you can get a vehicle for 3 years for a dollar but its has sponsors with there name and logo on your vehicle, kinda like in nascar, one of the catches is you do the leg work for the sponsors, and after the 3 years you turn it back over to them and its theirs to keep and do what they wish (sell) and the whole thing starts over again, our thinking was if we get the sponsors we may as well do it on our own. We did'nt go through with the deal, you can be your own judge.... can you see a Fire truck pulling up on a MVA DUI scene with Budweiser logos on it... I think not..... be safe, stay cool.

They have a form to fill out for 501(c)(3) organizations. Click here.

I guess three years might be okay for a chief's vehicle ... engines and towers are just getting broken in after 3 years.

Did not really get an answer?

I received a reply from my email I sent them and it simply said that we should apply. So I guess the department will talk about it and see what we come up with. I agree with you PA, three years for a engine is hardly worth the trouble, I am thinking this may be geared more for law enforcement. Winfieldff20, the website states that they do not deal with alcohol, tobacco, or gaming advertisements, just wanted to let you know.

We applied and were approved, I think anyone who applies gets approved, but like I said you have to get the sponsors yourself, why do all of this work and then give it back to him in 3 years, a lot of work for just to get to use it for a little time, After which he is free to do with it what he pleases, I think he owns a car dealership, you guys do some digging before you sign anything. We applied 7 or 8 months ago, Ask how many Vehicles he has placed so far, last I heard it was 0, we forgot about this months ago....I know what the web site says, my comment way what the general thinking is. Most of the sponsors are ment to be Corporate and large company sponsors, but how many are going to spend money in Small Town USA, thats in the middle of no where.
