Who here works part-time at more than on Department, or volly on more than one?

I know you guys are tired of hearing things about pagers but, Do you carry your pagers around with you from Department to Department, there are many guys on our Department that serve for more than one Department, Sometimes they will carry around 3 or 4 pagers with them.

    backdraft,
I'm on two volly departments but let me explain the situation. I'm a college student. While I'm at college, I respond with the volly department in that area, and when I'm at home, I respond with the department that covers that area.

Each department has it's plusses and minuses, but I have recieved good training and experience from both departments that I could not have gotten from just one.

I never carry more than one pager at once.

I'm eager to hear from others in similar/not so similar situations.

I respond with 2 volley depts. I carry 2 pagers around. 1 for both fire companies(alpha) and 1 from the County because of being Emergency Management Coordinator. We have several guys around here who respond with 3 or 4 companies but since we use Alpha pagers they eliminate the need for multiple pagers.

I had my minitor III programed with both department's tones in it. I also have text messages on my NEXTEL for my full time job. Haz Mat, Dive, Multiple alarm fires etc. the dispatch center sets it off.

While I've never had 2 pagers on at once, I wonder what people think of this topic: Someone works full time in one department and call for another. What do people think if the person responds on his/her way home from work wearing his full-time job shirt? Any disputes on this? I've definitely been guilty of this.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong
