There I was, minding my own business, reading the Chicago Tribune (metro section I believe)at work last night, when I see an article about what has been done with the ashes from the WTC. In essence, NOTHING! The city has buried them at Fresh Kills and has no plans to move them. If a relative wants to visit the site where their relatives ashes are buried, they must get an appointment with the sanitation department and then be escorted to view the area.
There is a petition at www.petitiononline.com/WTCASHES/petition.html
It proposes to bury the excavated material in containers at the trade center memorial. Current plans call for remains that can't be identified to be buried there.
