Smoke Machines

Any body out there got any recommendations on smoke machines. I have talked to local departments that use Halloween smokers to more expensive units that are in the $2000.00 range. Our department is looking at $900-1100.00 range maybe. Another thing is cost of operation. Seems like fluid costs about the same for the couple of models I have checked on. Kind of leaning toward the Tempest Shadow II but have heard from one department that said it didn’t hold up. Any input would be appreciated.

We have the Fogstorm-1700, it has served us well and all claims made by the website have been backed up. It fogs up our training area that is 70'x35' with 10' ceilings to about 2 ft. visibility in about 5-8 min.

Plus 300 bucks its a real budget buster.

Make sure you get some cleaning fluid with it and run it through the machine every use.

We use the High End (that's the brand name), F100 High Performance Smoke Generator. We are very pleased with unit. It is pricey at almost $1000CAD, but it puts out MASSIVE amounts of smoke very quickly.

I have put it on the top floor deck of a condo hotel, and let it run flat out and the volume of smoke would make you swear it was a real working fire. We periodically use our 300 person nightclub to train in, and it produces ZERO visibility throughout the entire club in about 2 minutes. This unit is overkill in a small room, producing zero visibility in seconds. It is even a good challenge for PPV. It comes with a 1 gallon smoke reservoir, and the control panel is on a 10' cord so you can operate it from outside the smoke room. I believe you can even order it with a wireless remote control now as well.
