NEW YORK -- You can count on firefighters not only to battle flames, but to save lives -- and even to help bring a new life into the world. One of Brooklyn's bravest did just that. But there's more to the story.
A firefighter from Ladder Company 114 of the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn delivered a baby in a taxicab Tuesday morning. But here's the twist: It was discovered later that two years ago, another firefighter from the same company delivered another baby from the same woman.
Tuesday's delivery came with some complications. The firefighter had to resuscitate the infant. However, the baby is now recovering with the mother at a hospital.
Mother Lorda Guzman and the baby are recovering at Lutheran Medical Center. The baby was reportedly born at 3.5 pounds and was listed as premature, but in stable condition
