The Lyon Township Fire Fighters are hosting a Golf Outing to benefit Breanna Rose (www.Breannarose.org). She is a local 22 month old South Lyon girl who suffers from a disorder called Dystonia.
By definition: Dystonia (DRD) is a neurological movement disorder characterized by involuntary muscle contractions, which force certain parts of the body into abnormal, often painful, movements or postures. Dystonia can affect any part of the body including the arms and legs, trunk, neck, eyelids, face, or vocal cords.
DRD is, in fact, a children’s version of Parkinson’s Disease, but for reasons doctors can’t yet fully explain a very treatable version. Untreated, it is a progressive disease that steals all mobility as muscles stiffen up.
What will the proceeds be used for?
This money will be used to pay for:
1. Existing accumulated medical expenses resulting from doctor/hospital visit (sometimes 3-4 times a week), medication, and tests.
2. Medical expenses not covered by insurance, resulting from the extensive invasive testing performed at CHAD on February 12, 2003.
3. Un-covered durable medical equipment (such as wheel chairs, braces, prosthetics) should Breanna not respond to medication prescribed at *CHAD.
4. Family travel expenses
* CHAD - The Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth is part of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, located in New Hampshire
We are asking for your help in the form of a Hole Sponsorship, Door Prizes, or (4)player Teams. The outing is being held on August 9, 2003 at Coyote Golf Club at 28700 Milford Rd., New Hudson, Mi. at 11:00am.
Thank you in advance for any consideration you may give to Breanna and her family. If you should have any questions please contact:
