how to fight fire

i have some questions

1) why dont you track fires with satelites

2) is it not possible to have like a water pipes in the forests like a sprinkler systenm to stop the fire from spreeding

3) why not use a hurcules plane to bomb the fire with water and have hot seeking radar on the plain...

4) you know that the ground is dry why not spreed water on it...

OK, I'll bite:

1) By the time a fire gets big enough to track with a satalite, it's too late. Unless we drop GPS systems onto fires before they start. If we knew where they were going to start why drop them?

2)Anythings possible, practical? No. If this were the case let's get water systems in ALL non hydrantated communties.

3)Because a Hercules plane droping chemical is more effective than water which is what is done already (not sure if they are Hercules planes).

4)If we went out and sprayed the forest with water as a preventive measure once the water evaperates we would be back where we started with less water to fight fires that do break out.

Hey guys, let's cut this guy some slack. He's just thinking outside the box, and if you sit back and think about it, if no one ever thought outside the box we'd still be sitting in the dark ages. No one would have invented things like the telephone, electricity, pumpers etc. Someone has to go against the grain sometimes in order for there to be change. Maybe it's not always feasible, but at least the mind is active and thinking "WHAT IF".

Not only that, think of what that would do to the ecological system. Changing the forest into a constant wetland would knock it out of whack.
