  • Good Haz-Mat books.

Well it looks like im going to have alot of time this summer since I cant find nor will my dept sponsor FF-I/II training. So I want to focus on another of my career goals and that is to be a Haz-Mat tech someday. So are there any good books out there on Haz-Mat for someone who is fairly new to the subject. I dont want to get something that is going to be over my head and will end up in the bottom of my closet but something I can learn out of.

    Thanks

      DFD,

A quick look turned up these 2 books. The first is a great beginners
book, the second is a little more advanced. Both are availible from www.firehousebooks.com go to the HAZMAT/Chem-Bio section. I will dig somemore and turn up some more books for you. If you have any questions drop me a line.

Street Smart Haz Mat Response by Michael Callan is a great book. It will help give you the tools needed to stay alive. Straight forward easy to read common sense approach to haz mat.
