  • New fire geometry

The old timers remember this The fire triangle: oxygen, heat, fuel. Take one away, fire goes out

    Then came the fire tetrahedron:
oxygen, heat, fuel, and a chain reaction. Take one away, fire goes out.

Well, there is now a new one in the training books, The fire quintobolix:
oxygen, heat, fuel, chain reaction, chief.
take either one away, and the fire goes out.

acronym for CHAOS: Chief Has Arrived On Scene.

          Pentahedron

A triangle is two dimensional (flat). A tetrahedron is a 4 sided solid (a pyramid with a triagular base, and each side is also a triangle - if you play any "role playing" games like Dungeons and Dragons, it's a 4-sided die). A 4 sided two-dimensional object would be a square or rectangle.

So the proper name for a two-dimensional, 5 sided figure would be a pentagon. But the proper name for a 5 sided SOLID figure would be a pentahedron.

I like the "quintobolix" better, though. Quint being the way FFs prefer to say "5" while trying to sound smart, and "bolix" being the term for what happens when the chief shows up.

Ok People, This was a little joke. Not a English grammatical quiz. Lighten up. I just used that word because it sounded funny. Do you go to movies and pick apart the things that happen? What a sad little life. Take the pickle out of your $^% and laugh a little, sheesh!!!!!

Ok, now the question arises...is it a 2-dimensional object or 3-dimensional?!?!? Once we figure that out, then we can figure out the proper name...

For future reference, it may be best to keep that information to yourself.
