I need some comparisons from other departments on what they get for their Haz-Mat squads/ Heavy Rescues, or whatever your department has. Do they get a percentage above base pay or a set amount per month, and if so, what is it? How many runs do they make, and what type? How much extra training do they do? Thanks for any info. Our rate is the same as when they first started giving it who knows how many years ago. It's like 65 dollars a month.

We get $1000 a year for our hazmat tech stipend. We are trained to the 24 hour tech level with an 8 hour refresher each year."The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."
