For whatever reason, this board has been a place for me to unload for the past few months.
The outpouring of love for my brothers in the FDNY that I've read here has been a true comfort. I wish you all peace and safety and hope against hope that we will never lose another of our own. This has been a pivotal point in all our careers, paid and volunteer alike. The people we serve are looking at us in a new light. That light shines from the hearts and souls of our fallen. Please, never let their sacrifice be in vain. Continue to serve our fellow man and never wonder "what's in it for me?" Thank You Brothers, all you have said and done over the past 15 weeks has been in the highest traditions of our service. I will quote Kurt Vonnegut again: " I can think of no more stirring symbol of man's humanity to man, than a fire engine" PEACE
