Community Awards????

I am looking for information about different community awards presented to citizens for saving a life or doing something beneficial to the community.
My department does not have such a program now, but we our looking to introduce one.
Any information would be helpfull.

We have a community awards program. Each year the chamber of commerce pays for a dinner. Each department selects a member who they feel has made a contribution to the company, community, etc. Others can also be nominated that are not members of a fire/ambulance squad. It's a really nice event, if you want me info, email me I can probably dig some stuff up for you.
