I'm sorry that I can't attend. I'll remember them all every time a rescue is made.

Those special rescues, those that we don't think will be made, will probably be more common now. God has a new Special Operations Division to handle them for him.

Wish I could be there but I'll do my very small part by bumping this back to the top.

God bless Chief Downey...We Will Never Forget!

This is a post that deserves all of the bumps in the world. I never had the good fortune to have met Deputy Chief Downey. Other than in breifing that showed a video made by Deputy Chief Downey in preperation of possible going to NY to support the FDNY Brother's. All I have say is he gave his life with his men. To me their is no greater Honor or respect earned then to give your life in defense of yor men. No question he was one of this countries leading professionals when it came to Collapse Rescues. DC Downey I utmost respect for you..I am just very sorry I never had the opportunity to have met you over a cold beer. My thoughts and prayer's are with you and your family.

GOD Bless FDNY and ALL of the lost Brother's

I'm on duty Saturday and it seems like I'll be unable to switch and get off. Most everyone I've asked will be attending this memorial. Anyone that's in town, feel free to stop by E-229 after, I'd like to meet some of you.

Loo: I just went FF Hannan's service, and I was glad to see a huge increase in attendence from the others I have made. Don't know if it was the location in NJ, or a greater response to your request, or both. Either way, it's good to see, and I thought you'd like to know.......

I will be landing at JFK at 7:30am on Saturday. I would like to make the commute to Deer Park with some of the forum members. Lets get together on this.

    Loo, I will be there.

From Penn Station take the Long Island RailRoad to Deer Park. Here's a schedule:

You can call the numbers posted on my original post for directions from the train station.

e229lt...how are you brother? I was just with Mr. Jim Cottrell of Cottrell Associates & National Foam who was a good friend of Chief Downey.

I have never met the man...but have high respect for him.

I wish i could attend...but I can not. Just know that I am there in spirit and I continue to pray for all of you.

Drop me a line and let me know how you are.

    Stan
