Future Firefighter hopefully

First off I would like to say thank you and God Bless all of the firefighters who work everyday to protect everyone else. You are all true heroes. Secondly, I am interested in taking the firefighter exam for the FDNY and I have a few questions: one, does anyone know when the next test date is? Two, what are the different roles of a firefighter? I see battalion, ladder company, and various other roles, but I don't know what they do during the fire. Does anyone know of any sites that have that info, or can someone tell me? I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys!

Also try www.nyfd.com That is an Unofficial web site to FDNY. That can help you out I think. There are many, many different sites to hit.
