Unit Designation as A, B, or C Units
In order to provide probationary fire fighters with varied work experience the Department established a program that transfers probies to 3 different types of firehouse in their first 3 years. The designations of either A, B, or C are made by Operations.

Factors taken into consideration include the work load, quality of the work load (structural fires, non-structural fires, CFR runs, false alarms, etc.), and types of structures in the response area in the previous two years.

As of May, 2000, the company designations are as follows:
