  • FIRE PAGING NETWORKS

Just a question to find out how many other firefighters participate in Paging Networks with Fire & Major incidents.

I have been with Carolinas Fire Page for about 3 years now and I felt it proved invaluable on the day of September 11th.

I also find that many times, I receive information from all over the country long before the local news has it and often it has details that they don't have as well.

I belong to IPN It provides a Paging service for all types of incidents that you could think of. it cost like 3 bucks a month or somethin like that. but If your a dispatcher and dispatch so many pages a month you get free email service which they notify you by email instead of a pager or you could be emailed or paged on a Pager...whichever you prefer... the website is Http://www.incidentpage.net

ALSO I agree BNN does blow..

I've been a member of East Coast Paging Systems (based in Dedham, MA) for about 8 years now. A few members of my FD are "dispatchers" for ECPS.

I like it because you get the facts about the incident, you can write off the expense of the service on your taxes (my pager is also set up for my Department's paging system), plus having a scanner in the house drives the wife crazy.

East Coast Paging also has reciprocal agreements with other paging systems, so if i go on vacation, I can still get news and information if I bring the pager to them for temporary reprogramming
