Myself along with 50 other firefighters recently traveled to NY. To attend one of the many funerals for our fallen brothers. I was truley humbled by the responce from our brothers from FDNY. I have traveled to NYC before and have always felt welcome, but the the outpouring of brotherhood that we felt during this recent trip was overwhelming. This along with the outpouring of support from the public, who often went out of their way to thank us for comming, was mindboggling.
We spent a long time in a small pub, with our brothers from FDNY, hearing stories and celebrating the memories of their friends.
I want to thank all of our brother firefighters who even in their grief, went out of their way to welcome us.
