Does your company inspect tools on your trucks. If so how often do you do it.

All tools are inspected, cleaned, and run once a week. -
Every morning, the drivers that come on duty take a look around, start the saws, and check on most other things. Every Wednesday, all the tools, and equipment are checked head to toe.

As far as hand tools go, I know of a good book that outlines just about every tool I know of. It includes info on the history, proper uses, and special uses of many common fire service hand tools. I'll try to locate it and let you know. Real good book to have... I'll go search for it.Hey, it's MY opinion, not that of my department or peers.Comment

Any chance the book you're referring to is Tools of the Trade by Richard Fritz, published by Fire Engineering? It's pretty good.
