Atta boys go out to Mike Moran FDNY for having the courage to speak his mind! How many of those at that concert do you think needed O2 after the speech he gave?I know Richard Gere would be one of them. The thing that made me mad was he was the only one that was a non celeb allowed to speak.Only cause Micheal J Fox said "Sure go up on stage."Who better to speak for those firefighters and cops? Why didnt the organizer get a whole bunch of the firefighters and cops up there?Oh well we know who the real hero's are and Mike Moran is a true hero for not mincing words and being politically correct. 100 years of tradition unimpeded by progress(or terrorists!)

I too watched the VH1 concert and was shocked, but proud as hell, at Mike Moran's words. He was the only one there that was allowed to speak with the balls to say something like that. I can only emphasize what you already said with your "give em hell Mike!" He, and every other member of FDNY, are true heroes and every single one of them deserves a few punches on old Osama. He later said in a follow-up interview that he would take bin Laden by the neck and bite his nose off. True Irishman! Gotta love that. Everyone say a prayer for BC John Moran, BN-49, Capt. Louis Modafferi, R-5, and Capt. Tim Stackpole, D-11...and the other 340 guys that answered their final alarm at that box. Those are just the three that will stick with me after that concert. But the other 340 are heroes as well...as are the thousands others who made it out alive. God bless and just to recite one of my favorite Irish sayings:
The race of men named the Gael,
Is a race God surely made mad.
For all of their wars are merry
And all of their loves are sad.

Or as they say in the old country... "Pog mo thoin!" Way to go Mike! I love it! Add me to the list of those waiting to buy you a Guinness!
As for Richard Gere, that sniveling, spineless, pantywaist: Air drop his @ss over Afghanistan, Osama and his boys would have a good ol' time with him.
Which reminds me of a good joke I heard once:
Q: Why can't gerbils drive?
A: Because they can't get out of Gere.

Mike Moran...if I ever run into you I am going to give you a great big kiss right on the mouth!!! (Don't worry I am of the female persuasion) You said what the rest of us as Firefighters, EMTs, Medics, Police Officers, etc. wanted to say to that rat bastard Osama Bin Laden. You are a true hero to all of us! We watched you on some tv programs last night before our weekly drill at the Firehouse and we cheered you and said how proud we were of that big ol' Irish Firefighter that had the guts to say what we would have said had we been there that night. Way to go...my hat is off to you!
As for Mr. Gere....bad move! You don't stand in front of thousands of people who have lost their fathers, sons, husbands, best friends, grandfathers, etc. and tell them to show peace and love to the cowards that committed this horrible act against our nation and our heroes. What the hell ever possessed you to think that anyone would welcome your words is beyond me. Next time keep your lovey dovey words to yourself...the only thing better than hearing what Mike had to say would have been to see him crush you like a little bug for your stupid comments. We as a fire service lost so many heroes and teachers and friends and leaders on that day...we all feel the pain that these families feel. You should feel lucky that you made if off that stage in one piece. Mike...go get em' and tell the world exactly how we as Firefighters feel....we are behind you.Never forget those who went before and sacrified to make us better and stronger as a fire service and a nation. 09-11-01 forever etched in time and our memories. God Speed Boys!

Way to go, Mike.
It had pretty much been a somber mood up to that point. In fact, my wife couldn't stop crying. I busted out laughing as I watched the surprise looks on the celebs faces. You had the world in your hands, but don't you think the "bitch" comment was a little harsh? I mean, bin Laden would have to raise his standards, wouldn't he? I hope the good mail keeps pouring in to you. You have my warmest regards and sympathy for your loss. I'd call you a throwback, but I wouldn't want to insult you. You're a breath of fresh air in a politically correct world and I salute you.
As for Richard Gere....here gerbil, gerbil!
Down with the evil-doers.

Mike, we're all proud to be in the same "business" with you, You made us proud!
If you saw the movie Braveheart, remember the scene when they were lining up for battle and the Irishman Stephen and some others turned around, bent over, and bared their bare butts to the enemy? When you got up there on stage and said that butthead bin laden could kiss your Irish ***, I thought of that scene.
Got you covered in prayer Brother, and hope that God grants you this pleasure!!!
Got your back too!See you on the big one!<br />Billy Reiter 1st Lieutenant/Chaplain available 24 7

What can I say that hasn't already been said, and better than I ever could?
Didn't think it was possible, but you've made me even prouder to be a firefighter.
