What is everyone doing with suspicious letters that are delivered to your station's, we had someone bring one to the station yesterday that met the FBI's criteria so we double zip locked it and put it in a biohazard bag?

If it was delivered by a mail carrier, I would call the postal inspectors. If it was carried in by another means I would notify the FBI.

Open it, read it and wash your hands. C'mon folks, we're supposed to be the brave ones, this sounds like it was written by a member of Congress

True story......Talking to the chief today he was telling us what kind of calls they have received so far .

Lets see....A resident called the FD for a mail package, upon the FD arrival they found a letter , the residnt was quick to point out that nobody by the name on the letter lives at the address, the letter was addressed to....." current resident"

Lets see.... Same day Same chief, responded to a report of Anthrax. Upon arrival found a 30 something female that meet the FD on the street, she stated that she washed her car yesterday and today she has a unidentified white spot on her car.....can we say tweet tweet. Confirmed bird poop.

Lets see... Companies responded to the local laundry mat for a powder substance on top of a washer.

Lets see...lady was walking her dog thru the park at night, swore she saw a bottle of ANTHRAX in the tree, called the FD the next day. Bottle never found.

Companies responded for a reported Anthrax, upon arrival found a person who stated that his Boston Herald smelt funny

I think I can go on, but you have the idea.
