Please sign this petition http://www.petitiononline.com/jmkdpk/petition.html to seek legislation that would result in health care coverage for Public Safety Workers, Police Officers and Firefighters who have served twenty years in their chosen profession. Besides being shot or injured on the job and exposed to the hazardous products of combustion, Public Safety Workers, Police Officers and Firefighters who have served the public during the past twenty years are exposed on a daily basis to Tuberculosis, HIV, Hepatitis A- B & C. Now, due to the terrorism threat, there is the potential exposure to biological and chemical warfare agents. These heroes whom we depend on to protect us must, for the most part, pay for their own health coverage once they retire from active public service. This is unfortunate. Is this any way to treat those who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens they serve? Please sign this petition to seek legislation that would result in health care coverage for Public Safety Workers, Police Officers and Firefighters who have served twenty years in their chosen profession.
