After that terrible day of 9-11-01 many communities held tributes for the victims. I attended a candlelight vigil on that Friday with prayers and song. Then this week I attended a tribute with approximately 15,000 people in attendance. It was a non-denominational ceremony so we heard from numerous religious leaders including Muslim and Zen. There was a great deal of emergency services workers in dress uniform and the crowd cheered loudly for everyone. A large flag was hung off two outstretched Sutphen platforms. Every person was given a candle and they were lit throughout the program.
