Brother, I took it to the next step. I sent my response to the Mayor at

    "Mayor Williams,

After reading the Washington Post article, I too am outraged that Chief Few would not support his members, or the FDNY families during this time of tragedy. It is apparent that he does not have the support of his men. I also question his ability to make sound decisions; a characteristic that he would REQUIRE from his most junior fireman.

If this chief does not have the support of his men and can not make good decisions, I would recommend that you consider a new chief!"

Thanks again from the brothers in the DCFD.

He certainly didn't pass up the opportunity to be present for the presentation though, did he?

I hope Rep. Weldon's remarks were public and in the presence of the Chief.

That DCFD chief is a jackass. My sympathies go out to those who work under him. You must really love your jobs to put up with that stuff.

                          To my Brothers in DCFD,

You make me proud in that, despite direct opposition, you rose to the challenge and came through. May there be a special place in Heavan for you.

Here's what I sent in on the comments page.

                          Chief Few,

How can you call yourself a chief? How can you be such a coward, to not allow your men to collect monies for the fallen heros in New York City, and then have the audacity to show up at the ceremony where the $293k raised is transferred?

First fight against the action, then show up and claim credit. Poor taste. Very poor.

I nominate Washington DC Fire Chief Ron "no clue" Few for Mutt of the Year!
