There has been alot of talk about a second wave of attacks and alot of the newscasters are saying that this is going to come on Saturday in the form of an NBC attack. Does anyone feel these have any credibility? Of course it is possible, I'll believe anything after last week.

Currently I put that in much the same catergory as two other major news articles recently...
FBI Warns of Fire Truck Theft...which came from an off-hand comment during a brain-storming session. Doesn't mean don't be vigilant, but it wasn't an actual threat made either.
5 Firefighters found alive in a SUV -- which ended up being 2 Firefighters involved in the rescue effort getting freed after they got stuck.
Doesn't mean don't be vigilant, but at the same time we face a situation of rumors/loose lips sink ships factor that we've never seen before -- the internet can spread credible sounding rumors soooo fast.
Besides, why attack on a Saturday? Weekdays you have high concentrations of people in downtown business districts. Sundays you have huge attendance at footballs games. What's the target on a Saturday?
By the way, the London Times (www.londontimes.com) was reporting the concern came about because 5 of the suspects on the "200 wanted list" of the FBI had bought airline tickets for Saturday.IACOJ Canine Officer

I believe the reason for Saturday is also because Sept. 22 is the day they celebrate the birthday of the prophet Mohammad.
Some if not all terrorist attacks tie into a date somewhere.

It would make perfect sense (as much as anything they do makes sense, that is) for the perps to have additional attacks planned.
Especially since their original aim was not accomplished (dividing us internally, and uniting their cause w/the more moderate Islamic world).
Don't borrow trouble... but keep a vigilant watch.
And read over your pre-plans for chemical or biological attacks, and your collapse and plan crash ones as well.Comment

NBC Attack has two definitions:
1) Nuclear-Biological-Chemical
2) The release of Peacocks carrying West Nile virus throughout the U.S.

Thanks! I figured it out after I posted my previous message, but was not sure if I was right.
I would by far prefer to be infested by the Peacocks!Opinions stated are mine only and do not reflect those of my companies.

I have a friend who used to do haz mat work in Virginia and he is now on the FBI Terrorist Task Force. Have been to a lot of classes.... If these guys/gals are in the Us...has anyone considered being aware of the possibility of ANTHRAX or RICIN?????
This attack has caused us to be looking for the "BIG ONE"...watch out for the little guy....
I know that several years ago they found someone manufacturing RICIN in the Shenandoah Valley.
Stay safe and keep your eyes open!09-11 .. 343 "All Gave Some..Some Gave ALL" God Bless..R.I.P.

Folks, never in my life was I happier to live in the middle of nowhere (actually, just east of the middle of nowhere) than September 11.
I fully expect more terrorist attacks in America in the near future. I don't think you're going to see the commercial airliner bit again. There are, however, other "conventional" means that I think we'll see, such as car/truck bombs.
I would hope that NBC attacks are outside of the reach of terrorist organizations. But the reality is that many of these types of weapons may well be within the reach of worldwide terrorist organizations.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, about 100 suitcase-sized nuclear bombs were unable to be accounted for. A typo on the inventory by the Russian goverment? Or a chance for an ex-Soviet military man to make some money?
When you factor in the possibility that several countries (such as, but definately not limited to, Iraq) actively promote and fund terrorism, the chances only increase that biological and chemical weapons are at their disposal.
I'm still going to lean towards car/truck bombs as the weapons of choice for terrorists in America right now. It's a lot easier to get the necessary material for a car/truck bomb that a NBC weapon.Bryan Beall

Silver City, before I got too comfortable living east of nowhere, I'd consider how do I get to somewhere. Our little city only has a population of about 3300, no viable target for a terrorist. However, in our little ole city two major highways intersect. Two railroads intersect. Now if any terrorist wants to reek havoc on a major metropolitan area, who is to say they won't get to that major metropolitan area by traveling through my little ole city. Lets say he has his vehicle loaded with explosives ready to use. He gets into my little ole city, driving about 65 (the legal speed limit), has a flat, loses control of his vehicle, overturns, and goes boom. Now my little ole city has become involved in a terrorist attack. Our no where now becomes a somewhere and we are involved. Still got to prepare for such an event. If it happens here we are gonna call somewhere to get some help! While we don't have the resources to handle a terrorist attack the magnitude of what took place 9-11-01, we know where to call to get help.Comment

I hear you, Chief 79.
Of more concern for me is the fact that I work at Tulsa International Airport, just across the runway from the National Guard Armory.Bryan Beall
