Hey go to www.montgomerycountyfirefighters.com A fireman by the name of Mark Nelson redid the song Knocking On Heavens Door and changed the words around to be like a NYFF who is now knocking on heavens door. Song will bring tears to your eyes. Radio stations here in MAryland are playing it.

How about "One more Day" by Diamond Rio - I kow there is a remix of that going around.
Also - how about "In the Arms of the Angels"

hot2ha - I checked out the audio clip - very moving song.

Is there any way I can get the entire version ?

          Try these for your project:
          "Angel" - Sarah Macaughlin?
          "Angels Among Us" Alabama
"God Bless the USA" Lee Greenwood
          "Higher" Creed
And I know this was used for the Worchester 6 but it is still very fitting,
          "Hero" Foo Fighters
          Good Luck

In addition to the songs already mentioned, I'd throw the following out for consideration:

            "The Dance" Garth Brooks
"Standing Outside the Fire" Garth Brooks
            "Like A Rock" Bob Seger
"Top Gun Anthem" from the Top Gun soundtrack

              "Overcome" by Live

If anyone didn't see it on VH-1, a company called Camera Planet made a video for it showing emergency workers in NYC.

Go to www.cameraplanet.com to see the video and go to www.friendsoflive.com to download the mp3 for free (the band was so moved by the video that they decided to give away the song.)

I would also suggest "Only Time" by Enya.

Hi--I wrote this song on Sept. 12. Anyone is welcome to do with it what they will, as long as it is in respectful memory of the fallen NYC firefighters.

                BALLAD OF THE NYC FIREFIGHTERS
(to the tune of “Ballad of the Green Berets&#8221

                They are heroes, every one
They did their jobs, what had to be done
Yet they gave much more than this
They gave their lives in the smoke and mist.

                Courageous hearts within their chests
                Firefighters are America’s best
Three hundred answered the call that day
Six billion cried, six billion prayed.

While thousands fled the smoke and horror
A few hundred ran into the tower
To help the injured, stop the fire
Not yet knowing they’d be called higher.

                Courageous hearts within their chests
                Firefighters are America’s best
Three hundred answered the call that day
Six billion cried, six billion prayed.

We can’t repay the life you lost
It’s much too high, a terrible cost
But we can promise you this:
You’ll be remembered, you’ll be missed.

                Courageous hearts within their chests
                Firefighters are America’s best
Three hundred answered the call that day
Six billion cried, six billion prayed.

Give us brave hearts within our chests
To be like you, America’s best
Willing to do whatever it takes
To preserve life and conquer hate.
