If it's true, it's a ridiculous rule. They can break windows and rip out walls, but God forbid they leave a mark on the lawn . When I had a chimney fire at my house, they put the ladder truck pads down on my lawn and sunk into the mud. That was the least of my worries. I was thrilled that there was no damage to my house. The fire department was directly across from my house at the time and I would have offered to let them park on my lawn if they wanted.

it sounds like there more to this than what you were told. If not someone needs some serious help. If all the guy did was drive 2 inches onto someones lawn backing a rig out of a driveway. I think that they need to take a look at there policies. As I said it sounds like there is more to this story what has been told.

Did the driver have any previous disciplinary problems? Sounds fairly harsh if there wasn't. I really would have to hear all sides of the story before I could judge on who was right and wrong.

Sounds pretty far fetched. I can't help but think there must be more to this story than what you've told us so far.

started a topic you gotta hear this story

    you gotta hear this story

i was recently talking with a friend of mine who's on a volunteer/full time dept. and he seemed like he was mad at the fire chief and i asked him what's up?
he said after a fire they we're leaving a house fire scence(remember this is in town so the drive ways are fairly narrow) and the driver of the fire truck didn't mean to but bearly drove on the house owner's lawn( they measure it 2 inch !! ) anyhow later on he got fired cause there's a rule i guess saying you can't drive on the lawn. but what's bad the owner's of the house and all the other firefighters told the chief to chill out and you know with that truck being that big it's hard enough to get it in and out of driveways. but he still fired him. I couldn't believe he got fired over driving 2 inches on somebody's lawn. if i was full time there i would have handed in my 2 week resigning letter and gone somewhere else if the chief that big of a rear end( i was thinking of another word)
