Connecticut is not an "OSHA State" they have their own OSHA code.
The above is MY OPINION only and not that of anyone else. I am not representing any organization in making a post here!!!!

      Minor correction on terms --

Connecticut *is* an OSHA state since they do have a StateOSHA program.

They would be considered a Non-OSHA state if they didn't have a StateOSHA -- since only when a state adopts a state program does OSHA regs cover public fire departments.

Once StateOSHA is established, the regs must be at least equivelant to FedOSHA.

States without StateOSHA may still have an OSH program for the fire service on state level, but it isn't required to meet FedOSHA standards.

-- If your an OSHA state, StateOSHA has jurisdiction over private & state/municipal employers
-- If your non-OSHA, FedOSHA has jurisdiction over private employers
-- NJ is an odd-duck. Their StateOSHA covers *only* public employs, FedOSHA maintains jurisdiction over private employers.
