I met Pete Ganci in New Orleans less than 1 month ago as a result of accompanying my husband to the ICHIEFS conference. I loved him right away.

When I heard the news of his passing today, I had to take a step back. I also took stock of what I know. Pete was a good man. I am greatful to have known him, sorry that I will not see him again, and hopeful that the NYFD will know how a good a man he was. After all is a wife of a chief in a small southwestern town remembers him...right???

God bless you Pete and we will always remember your humor.
