Was your department notified of the award by USFA/FEMA before the public announcement was made?

From what I have read, FEMA seems to be contacting the FD's in advance....The above is MY OPINION only and not that of anyone else. I am not representing any organization in making a post here!!!! -
FEMA called me the day they posted the award to there web sit. We got one for PPE.
Looks like Puerto Rico got 500,000.00 + for trucks.Comment

The first hint came when we were contacted by a contractor hired by FEMA to set up our direct deposit. They said we would be contacted in a few days by FEMA concerning our grant and faxed some forms to us but no other info. FEMA called about a week later advising us of our first award.It was about another week later we recieved the second call from FEMA advising us of our second award.It was a long two weeks before we saw both our awards on the web. Hope this helps and you have good luck. For us, $83,363 for PPE and equipment our volunteer department desperately needed.Comment

Congrats Arkff, I was glad to see Vilonia get the grants, If you are replacing any older turnouts and such, please remember the other small depts that need help, if you cant find any i can, enjoy your new gear.

I HOPE the direct deposit thing is good! We were notified by FEMA that they needed our routing number etc. a week or so ago but we have not heard anything back yet... We too pretty desperately need the money....
